Long-term Activities

In the pursuit of its objectives, RSP aims not only to address but to also provide suggestions and solutions regarding the important issues, which currently face interventional radiology by adopting more of an active role within the radiological industry. In order to achieve its aim, the Society’s on-going long-term activities include:

 

  1. The promotion of radiology to young doctors;
  2. The establishment of improved training programmes
  3. The encouragement of appropriate recognition for radiology from the industry
  4. The communication to relevant authorities of problem areas within interventional radiology Activities
  5. The organization of annual congresses, scientific meetings and various educational activities
  6. The publication of a Newsletter for distribution among members;
  7. The circulation of RSP journal, Pakistan Radiology Journal (PJR) among all members
  8. The promotion of radiology at appropriate forums


Annual Meeting

The RSP Annual Meeting, which takes place in May, is a two day event allowing radiologists to earn CME Credits. Topics range from socio-economic and legal issues affecting radiologists to the application of radiology. To encourage attendance at this meeting the CRS waves the registration fee for its members.


Resources & Guidance

Many members utilize the RSP as a resource for information and direction on legal and practice issues. We provide references to outside attorneys and consultants for specific member assistance.


Quarterly Newsletter

The RSP Bulletin is a quarterly newsletter designed to keep members abreast of Society activities, events, trends and information. It also provides an excellent, useful, and reliable review of local, state and national legislative activities.


For Patients

The Radiological Society of Pakistan is a professional association dedicated to improving the quality of patient care. Members of the RSP are radiologists, throughout Pakistan and Abroad, who are involved in continual review of ways and means to improve services, tests and technologies.


The RSP promotes improved professional development and education, both for members and allied health professions.

RSP sets performance standards and provides clinical and billing guidelines to assist members in their commitment to professional standards.


For Medical Aids

The RSP promotes constructive interaction and co-operation between radiologists and our colleagues in affiliated industries. Through ongoing programs of peer review, clinical guidelines and guidelines to billing it demonstrate our commitment to ensure adherence to standards and eradication of fraud. RSP employs a specific peer review committee whose mandate is to continually review and issue guidelines to billing.
